Sync Speicals - Lights?

What Ive done is set each sector to 'Lights Flicker Randomly' and also ticked the 'Sync Special' box for each of those sectors. When I do so I get no lighting effect for those sectors at all. If I untick the 'Sync Special' box then the sectors will flicker randomly but they are not synced.  :(

I sent a copy of it to MithralDemon today so he can play test it and give me some general feedback so maybe he'll also be able to point out where Im going wrong ;)

Ive got the 'Lights flicker randomly' working in pretty much all sectors that I want and they are synced nicely to give a flame like flicker around the room. This was no mean feat as I needed to delete sectors and redraw them to get it to work... and still do not understand why.
But the problem with it not working in the odd sector is still a problem.
This pic show my starting room which is edged with a flowing lava floor... so there are lots of separate sectored with synced 'Lights flicker randomly'
All work apart from three. The sector in front of the far end door... a small sector near it, and a sector around one of the pillars.
Strangely the sector on the other side of the door works fine... and is identical in every way.
Ive tried cutting and pasting sector properties to the problem sectors and this does not solve the issue.
Ive also tried deleting the sectors completely and copying a working sector in its place.... this solves the problem... but then I find that some other sector who's flicking lights were previously working are now not  >:(
